WORK

Stylus is a bold live performance created by Urban Projections and artist Pete Barber, presented at Burn Yard Live in Budapest as part of the Hungarian Grand Prix. Set within a vast industrial space, the event brought together 14 international street artists to reimagine discarded and overlooked materials - transforming them into large-scale, expressive works of art.

Combining projection mapping with hand-painted mural techniques, Stylus unfolded over several hours as a live, evolving artwork. Layers of animated visuals were projected directly onto painted surfaces, creating a fluid dialogue between light, texture, and colour. As digital imagery moved and shifted in real time, it interacted with brushstrokes and detailed illustration - merging film, light, and mural into a single immersive experience.

The piece explored themes of transformation and reinvention, giving new life to obsolete objects and forgotten spaces. In keeping with the wider ethos of Burn Yard Live, Stylus celebrated the potential of creativity to turn the industrial and discarded into something vibrant and new.

Alongside contributions from artists and creatives such as Gerry Judah, Dilk, M-City, Avicii, Kimi Räikkönen, and Dezmond, Stylus stood out as a dynamic fusion of digital and street art - a performance that pushed boundaries and artistic experimentation.
