WORK

I See You is an interactive mixed-media installation by Urban Projections that explores how technology shapes identity and connection in the digital age. Set within a public space, the piece invites passersby to pause, engage, and reflect on the contrast between our curated online lives and the unfiltered versions of ourselves.

A series of geometric cubes appear unexpectedly on the street, drawing attention with their patterned surfaces and graphic form. Each cube features peepholes that reveal an interior world: a mirrored infinity chamber that reflects the viewer endlessly back at themselves. This loop of self-image stands in stark contrast to the polished personas we often construct online - offering instead a raw, fragmented portrait of presence and perception.

The work reflects on the shift from physical to digital interaction, posing questions about authenticity, identity, and how we present ourselves in an increasingly screen-mediated world. As Urban Projections explains, “Inside, the mirrors reflect hundreds of versions of yourself - unprocessed, pure, beautiful. On the outside, there’s a strange disconnection from reality.”

I See You is both playful and provocative, using light, reflection, and space to highlight the dualities of digital life. It encourages viewers to consider how technology influences not only how we connect with others, but how we see ourselves.
