WORK
In collaboration with Mat Collishaw, Urban Projections created a 4D installation for the launch of the Jimmy Choo Vices Collection at One Mayfair. The work transformed the venue into an immersive environment inspired by the crystalline structures of Mexico’s Naica caves.
Using projection mapping, light was layered across sculptural crystal forms, building shifting surfaces of reflection, shadow and colour. Moving image sequences - including urban footage such as rainfall, traffic and architecture - were embedded within the structures, introducing a contemporary layer that contrasted with the more geological references.
The installation unfolded as a continuous environment, with light refracting across surfaces and changing in intensity over time. Rather than a single focal point, the space was designed to be experienced from within, with guests moving through and around the work as it shifted.
The project formed part of a wider live event, where the installation sat alongside a dining experience by Mark Hix. Together, these elements created a shared environment where fashion, food and moving image were brought into the same space.
The collaboration reworked the format of a launch event into a fully spatial experience, using projection and light to reshape how the venue was perceived and used.
