Multimedia Artist Rebecca Smith (Urban Projections) is an experienced and accomplished light artist, using the medium of projection mapping to create dialogue, and form connections, with audiences. Her work has travelled internationally to festivals, performances, installations and galleries around the world.
Rebecca works with architecture, stage design, the urban environment and pure space to create stunning mixed-media experiences which seemingly push the realms of possibility.
Projection Mapping is a development in projection technology, in which an image can be specifically 'placed' or 'mapped' onto the features and contours of an object. Paired with careful pre-production, it is possible to achieve stunning results. Rebecca has been working with Projection Mapping as an output for her work for a number of years, using the format to give seemingly extra dimension to content.
