Rebecca's artistic practice often involves taking her work out onto the streets and into the public spaces. Street projections are one of the most effective and exciting ways of reaching audiences and catching them by surprise.

Urban Projections have numerous mobile protection units, including bikes and wheel-able devices, which have been specially converted to create the ultimate, self-sufficient, projection mobiles. They also look pretty interesting and attract audiences by themselves.

THE LIGHT CYCLE

The Light Cycle is a bike with personality. Housing a high power, 6000 ansi lumen projector, sound system, ipad and battery pack, it is a fully mobile street art device. It aims to provide an innovative means for taking digital art into public spaces and out onto the streets.

Realised by Urban Projections, the Light Cycle has been used to illuminate streets with colourful digital artwork and animation. Collaborating with illustrators, artists and members of the public, from both rural and urban locations, the Light Cycle breathes life back into disused areas.

SURPRISING & DELIGHTING

The beautiful thing about taking art into public spaces is the ability to catch an audience off guard, and gain their attention. It allows you to reach audiences that you otherwise may not, and bring creativity into the most unlikely of places. Rebecca's work seeks to surprise and delight audiences by turning forgotten spaces into canvases of light and colour.

COVERT TO OVERT

Sometimes small, intimate and designed for the eyes of a single person. Sometimes the size of a building, made to attract maximum attention. It is possible to achieve impactful and ambitious effects from guerrilla projections.

FUTURE CURIOUS

As part of the festivals closing weekend celebrations, Urban Projections worked with 'Future Curious 15' to beam GIFS from their 'How To Gif' workshop onto the walls of The Mac, Birmingham. The Future Curious project was developed to enable young people to explore future innovation, technology and thinking through creativity.
